California Wildfires Force Store Closures at Jack in the Box -- Market Talk

1233 ET - Jack in the Box says the Southern California wildfires are hurting its sales. The San Diego chain, whose restaurants primarily serve the West Coast, hasn't lost any locations to the wildfires, UBS analysts say in a research note. But the fires have resulted in many store closures, ranging from hours to days. The company didn't provide financial updates at this year's ICR Conference but said sales trends through November were consistent with 4Q, during which frame the chain reported same-store sales down 2.1%. The company, whose former CFO recently returned to oversee capital allocation, plans to focus on digital and technology enhancements, new menu offerings and re-franchising stores under its Del Taco banner in the new year, analysts write.
