Downer EDI Secures Six-Month Contract Extension With Australia's Defense Department

Downer EDI (ASX:DOW) received a six-month extension to its estate maintenance and operation services contract with Australia's defense department, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

The firm will continue to provide base and estate management and support, estate upkeep, transport services, and land management services for the department's bases and training facilities across the Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, and Southern New South Wales regions, the filing said.

The extension starts in August and runs to Jan. 31, 2026.

The firm is awaiting the outcome of the next-generation estate maintenance and operation services tender, per the filing.

The company's shares were up almost 1% in recent Friday trade.
