China Longyuan Power's (SHE:001289, HKG:0916) attributable profit rose 42% to 1.65 billion yuan in the third quarter from 1.16 billion yuan, after adjustments, in the year-ago period, according to a Thursday filing with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Earnings/Loss per share at the power company increased 46% to 0.1957 yuan from 0.1341 yuan a year earlier.
Operating income declined 9.9% to 7.47 billion yuan from 8.28 billion yuan in the prior-year period.
Shares surged 8% in Shenzhen and 4% in Hong Kong during Thursday's trading.
