Gogo named Christopher Moore as its chief executive, succeeding Oakleigh Thorne, effective upon the closing of the company's acquisition of Satcom Direct, which was announced in September.
Moore, 49 years old, joins the provider of business-aviation internet services from Satcom, where he has held numerous leadership positions since 2012, including president, chief operating officer and chief commercial officer. He also will join Gogo's board of directors, the Broomfield, Colo., company said.
In the role, Moore will receive a base salary of $850,000 and be eligible to receive an annual bonus worth 100% of that figure, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
He succeeds Thorne, 67, who held the CEO role since March 2018 and will serve as the new executive chair of the board.
Also Monday, Gogo named Mike Begler as chief operating officer and Zachary Cotner as chief financial officer.
Begler, 59, will assume the COO role on Jan. 1 after having served as senior vice president of Gogo Product Operations since January of 2018.
Cotner, 41, will take over the CFO role upon the closing of Gogo's acquisition of Satcom--expected by the end of the year--succeeding Jessica Betjemann. He most recently served in the top finance role at Satcom and will receive a base salary of $465,000.
