Keppel (SGX:BN4) and Vietnam's Sovico Group are in talks to set up undersea fiber-optic cables to strengthen the region's data centre industry, according to a report by the Reuters on Friday.
The two states are a key junction for cables connecting Asia to Europe and are now looking to add more to their network to cater for a growing demand for data centres, the report said.
According to the report, one of the plans includes a cable that can be laid down to link Vietnam directly to Singapore for around $150 million.
