Red Hill Minerals (ASX:RHI) said first-pass reverse circulation drilling and concept testing returned "elevated" gold and base metal intercepts from multiple targets within its West Pilbara project in Western Australia, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Twenty-eight drill holes were completed at Barkley Gold, Kens Bore Gold, S-Bend/Elwood, Bloodwood, and Dereks Bore targets, with the best results including 2 meters at 2.7 grams per tonne of gold from 92 meters, 2 meters at 3.5% copper from 260 meters, and 2 meters at 1.3% zinc from 82 meters, the filing said.

Follow-up extension drilling is planned at a number of key targets, including Barkley Gold and Elwood Zinc, in the first half of the year, per the filing.

Shares rose more than 1% in morning trade Monday.
