Insurance and finance company AIA Group (HKG:1299, HKG:81299) bought back a total of 1,409,427,600 shares through a series of repurchases on the market for a total of around $12 billion under its 2022 buyback program, a Wednesday bourse filing said.

The repurchased shares represent 11.7% of the number of total issued shares of the company as of March 2022 and the program has been completed as of the filing date.
