Miscellaneous stocks gained the most on the New Zealand exchange, rising 3% at midday Tuesday driven by Infratil's increased investment in CDC.

Infratil (NZE:IFT, ASX:IFT) rose past 3% in recent trade as it bought more stake in CDC to now hold a total of 49.75%.

On the other hand, communications shares dropped 1%.

Spark New Zealand (NZE:SPK) shares dropped 1% in recent trade.
