Major digital assets were weaker late afternoon Thursday with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) trading close to the $83,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, shed 0.1% in the past 24 hours. US equity indexes were in the red in late trading, with the Nasdaq 100 down 2.4%, the S&P 500 falling 1.3% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average edging down 0.4%.
Bitcoin was 1.3% lower at $83,120, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume declined 2.5% to $56.55 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, dropped 3%% to $2,255.
XRP (XRP-USD) lost 2%, BNB (BNB-USD) dipped 1.7%, while Solana (SOL-USD) bucked the trend with a 0.4% gain.
Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) shed less than 0.1%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) retreated 2.9%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.283% at 3 p.m. ET Thursday, rising from 4.247% Wednesday, while the five-year yield eased to 4.055% from 4.075%.
The global cryptocurrency market value decreased 1% in the past 24 hours to $2.77 trillion with trading volume down 11.1% at $126.38 billion.
