Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) repurchased 1,113,178 shares in London on Tuesday at a volume weighted average price of around 12.55 pounds sterling apiece, a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.

The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have 2,408,588,435 shares in issue.
