Latrobe Magnesium (ASX:LMG) secured approval for its proposed 100,000-tonne-per-annum power request, subject to initializing a terms' sheet, entering into a power purchase agreement with Sarawak Energy, and addressing any other Sarawak Government-related issues, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
The approval allows the company to proceed with finalizing discussions with potential joint venture partners, the filing said.
The company also received funding from the Southeast Asia Investment Deal Team's Project Development Support Program to aid in establishing its stage 3 project in Malaysia, according to the filing.
