US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. plans to reinstate some of the programs and workers cut earlier this week during the department's reorganization, The Wall Street Journal reported late Thursday.
The report said Kennedy admitted mistakes were made in the initial cuts and that specific programs and personnel should not have been cut.
Among the reinstated programs is the CDC's blood lead level monitoring for children, the report said, adding some laid-off FDA employees have been asked to continue supporting the agency, although it's unclear if their layoffs are fully reversed.
