US equity futures were flat before Monday's opening bell as traders stayed on the sidelines ahead of a busy week for corporate earnings.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down slightly, S&P 500 futures slipped 0.06%, and Nasdaq futures were down 0.1%.
Coca-Cola (KO), Microsoft (MSFT), Meta Platforms (META), Apple (AAPL), and Amazon (AMZN) are scheduled to report earnings later in the week.
Oil prices were lower, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude down 0.2% at $65.65 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude 0.1% lower at $62.96 per barrel.
The General Business Activity Index based on the Dallas Fed Manufacturing Survey is due for release at 10:30 am ET.
In other world markets, Japan's Nikkei closed 0.4% higher, Hong Kong's Hang Seng ended 0.04% lower, and China's Shanghai Composite finished 0.2% lower. In Europe, the UK FTSE 100 gained 0.2%, and Germany's DAX index rose 0.7% in early afternoon trading.
In equities, shares of Nvidia (NVDA) were 1.2% lower pre-bell after The Wall Street Journal reported that China's Huawei Technologies is preparing to test its latest artificial intelligence chips.
On the winning side, Portage Biotech (PRTG) shares advanced 39% after the company said results from a clinical study showed agent activity for its mesothelioma drug was superior to treatment with single agent anti-PD1 antibody.
