Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI), a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, witnessed a significant achievement on Sunday as its 1 millionth vehicle rolled off the assembly line at its plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. This milestone comes just 58 months after the company's first vehicle was produced in November 2019, marking a remarkable journey for the EV startup.
The 1 millionth vehicle, a Li L6 extended-range electric vehicle (EREV), rolled off the line amidst a celebratory atmosphere at the Changzhou plant. Li Auto executives and local government officials attended the event, highlighting the company's rapid growth and contribution to the burgeoning Chinese EV market.
Founded in 2015, Li Auto has quickly established itself as a key player in the Chinese EV industry, offering a range of EREV models that combine electric motors with small gasoline engines for extended driving range. The company's current lineup includes the Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9, as well as its first pure battery electric vehicle, the Li Mega MPV, launched in March 2024.
