Crypto shares gained in overnight trading. TeraWulf up 6.4%; Bit Digital up 5.4%; Riot Platforms, MARA Holdings up more than 3%; Strategy, Coinbase, CleanSpark up around 2%.
Waking up to a surge in Bitcoin price to over $93,000 driven by optimism in the improvement of US-China trade relations, with a 24-hour gain of over 7%.
Chip stocks gained in overnight trading. SOXL up 5.5%; SMCI up 4.8%; Nvidia, Intel up more than 3%.
Gold stocks retreated in overnight trading. Harmony Gold down 5.4%; Gold Fields down 4.9%; Barrick Gold down 1.1%.
Gold fell for a second day after topping $3,500 an ounce for the first time, as investors booked profits and US President Donald Trump gave conciliatory gestures toward China and his central bank chief.
