Grab has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with four autonomous technology firms: Autonomous A2Z, Motional, WeRide, and Zelos.
These partnerships aim to explore the integration of autonomous vehicles (AVs) into transportation systems in Southeast Asia.
The pilot studies will evaluate AV technologies for various applications, including shuttles, cars, delivery bots, and buses.
Key objectives include assessing the potential of AVs to improve safety, reduce accidents, and enhance traffic management.
The firm said it would collaborate with governments and driver associations to ensure the safe rollout of autonomous vehicles while supporting the development of necessary skills and infrastructure.
