BGI Genomics (SHE:300676) announced a change in the medical device registration of its hereditary deafness gene detection kit.
The changes expanded the use of the kit from auxiliary deafness diagnosis to include serving as a supplement to conventional physical hearing screening, especially to find drug-induced and late-onset deafness gene carriers that are undetectable via conventional physical hearing screening, according to a Thursday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.
