China's Xiaomi (HKG:1810) wants India's antitrust body to recall its report on Walmart's Flipkart breach of competition laws, arguing that it contains sensitive data related to the smartphone manufacturer, South China Morning Post reported Monday, citing two people familiar with the matter said.
Xiaomi told the investigation that the data on the report should have been redacted before being shared. Previously, a similar complaint by Apple led to a recall of a report in India. The report has yet to be made public, and only selected people have seen it, the publication noted.
It contains information about the number of phones sold, including information about their models, which is treated as sensitive information. Xiaomi is accused of colluding with Amazon and Flipkart to promote its phones in India, where it has severe competition with Samsung. The two companies enjoy a 36% market share in India, SCMP said.
