Besra Gold (ASX:BEZ) received a statement of claim for legal proceedings in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, Canada, regarding the company's dealings with Quantum Metal Recovery, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The claim states that Besra and other defendants were allegedly oppressive to the plaintiffs and that its board of directors purportedly breached their fiduciary duties. Besra said several statements in the claim are "inaccurate and without basis," the filing stated.
Besra Gold is seeking legal advice and counterclaims or other legal remedies, according to the filing.
Shares in the company fell 10% in Friday trade.
