Elite UK REIT (SGX:MXNU) submitted an application to the local authorities in the UK for the development of a data center at Peel Park, Blackpool, according to a filing with the Singapore Exchange on Thursday.

The site is located on a 15.65 hectare of freehold land and is in proximity to a subsea cable that connects Blackpool to Dublin, the filing said.

The trust's manager has also secured sufficient power supply for the data center while it is also in discussions about adopting a greener solution to the data center's power needs.

Shares of the trust were down over 3% in recent trading.
