AIA Group (HKG:1299, HKG:81299) plans to raise $1.25 billion through a debt offering, a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.
The company has filed for the listing of $500 million worth of 4.95% subordinated dated securities due in 2035 and $750 million worth of 5.40% subordinated dated securities due in 2054.
The insurance and finance company expects the listing and permission to deal in the securities to become effective on or before Wednesday.
The debt securities were drawn under the issuer's $16 billion borrowing program, the filing said.
The company's shares were up over 1% in recent trade.
