Aemetis (AMTX) said Thursday its Aemetis Biogas unit is set to start operations of its new multi-dairy anaerobic digester in Merced County, California, by the end of 2024.
The initial construction phase of the project, which can produce more than 200,000 MMBtu per year of renewable natural gas from dairy cows' waste, has been completed, the company said.
The digester is connected to a 36-mile Aemetis biogas pipeline and designed to collect waste from four dairies, it said.
Aemetis said its digesters are expected to help generate tax credits available under the Inflation Reduction Act starting in January 2025.
Shares of the company were up 3.2% in recent trading.
