Pacific Basin Shipping (HKG:2343) bought back 2,501,000 shares from the open market on Monday for HK$5.3 million, a same-day bourse filing said.

The shares were bought back at the highest and lowest price of HK$2.6 and HK$2.55 apiece, respectively.

The repurchased shares are expected to be canceled soon.

The maritime transport company's shares closed nearly 3% higher on Monday.
