Asian Citrus (HKG:0073) purchased 140,000 CITIC Securities' (HKG:6030, SHA:600030) shares on the market for a little over HK$3.0 million at an average purchase price per share of HK$21.61, a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.

The group now holds 140,000 CITIC shares and seeks to have an enhanced return on investment for the group from this investment.

The agricultural businesses company's shares closed over 7% lower on Wednesday.
