Ryanair Holdings (RYAAY) said Thursday that it will cut its traffic in Germany by 12%, cancelling 22 routes and 1.8 million seats, for summer 2025 due to increase taxes and fees.
As part of the move, Ryanair said it will close its bases in Dortmund, Dresden and Leipzig, and slash offerings in Hamburg by 60%. According to the company, the reduction "will have a devastating impact on jobs, tourism and connectivity."
Ryanair called on German Transport Minister Volker Wissing to "act immediately" on the rising costs to prevent further traffic cuts in summer 2025.
