Tutor Perini (TPC) said Wednesday its Frontier-Kemper Constructors unit has been awarded a contract worth about $1.1 billion by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection for the Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project.
The new tunnel will provide an additional means of conveying water between the Kensico Reservoir and the CDUV Facility, raising operational resiliency and redundancy for New York City's water supply system, the company said.
Work is expected to start in coming months with substantial completion expected in 2030, Tutor Perini said. The contract value was added to its Q3 backlog.
