Li-S Energy Produces Lithium-Sulfur Battery Cell with Nearly 500Wh/kg Energy Density; Shares Surge 42%

Li-S Energy (ASX:LIS) produced full-size 10-ampere-hour semi-solid-state cells with an energy density of 498 watt-hours per kilogram on first discharge and 456 watt-hours per kilogram after formation cycling at its third phase automated pouch cell production facility in Victoria, according to a Monday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.

The cells incorporated the company's GEN3 semi-solid-state cell chemistry initially announced in April 2023, the filing said.

The company delivered test cells to its key partners in September to validate the performance of aerospace battery packs that integrate LIS cells and a new intelligent battery management system, according to the filing.

Shares surged 42% in afternoon trade.
