Mortgage rates up amid continued strength in economy

Mortgage rates increased amid a continued strength in the economy, said the latest Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Survey.

30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.54% as of Oct. 24, up from 6.44% last week and down from 7.79% in the year-ago week.
