Prudential (SGX:K6S, HKG:2378) repurchased 594,269 shares in London on Thursday at an average price of about 6.59 pounds sterling per share, according to a Friday filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The lender also issued 40,000 ordinary shares of 0.05 pounds each as an alternative to the scrip dividend for the 2024 first interim dividend.
The repurchased shares will be canceled. Upon cancellation and issuance of scrip dividend shares, the company will have 2,692,457,389 shares in issue.
