The Parsippany, New Jersey-based company said it had a loss of $2.49 per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.50 per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of $1.40 per share.
The refiner posted revenue of $8.38 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $8.12 billion.
