Shares of technology companies rose ahead of earnings.
Five of the so-called Magnificent Seven tech giants -- Apple, Amazon, Google-parent Alphabet, Meta Platforms and Microsoft -- will report earnings in the coming days.
This week's reports will also be revealing for Nvidia, the seventh member of the cohort, said J.D. Joyce, president of Houston financial advisory Joyce Wealth Management.
"It will also be a revealing week for Nvidia because we'll be hearing fom a number of their customers and their AI spending plans," Joyce said. "Even though Nvidia is not reporting this week, it's almost a quasi report."
