Sunny Optical Technology's (HKG:2382) vehicle lens set shipments jumped 12% year over year to 8.7 million units as customer demand rose, according to a Friday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange.

Spherical glass lens shipments grew 7.1% to 2.5 million units, while that of handset lens sets fell 1.9% to 115.6 million units, the filing said.

Handset camera module shipments plunged 38% to 33.8 million units due to a focus on mid- to high-end projects, the filing said.

Shipments of other optoelectronic products soared 121% to 7.3 million, the filing said.

Shares closed 4% higher during Friday's trading.
