A Massachusetts ballot question that would allow adults to grow, use, and possess many psychedelic substances appears poised for defeat.
With 80% of precincts reporting, opponents of the measure are leading 56.7% to 43.3%.
The substances that would be legalized under the proposal are psilocybin and psilocin, which are found in "magic mushrooms," as well as dimethyltryptamine, mescaline, and ibogaine.
Oregon and Colorado already allow the use of some psychedelic substances.
