On a per-share basis, the Needham, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 27 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, came to 50 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 44 cents per share.
The travel website operator posted revenue of $532 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $526.5 million.
