The Tennessee Valley Authority announced a 10-year power purchase agreement with Argo Infrastructure Partners and Brookfield Asset Management (BAM).
The signatories to the agreement include Brookfield's listed affiliate, Brookfield Renewable (BEP), the TVA said Tuesday in a statement.
The Cheoah, Calderwood, Chilhowee, and Santeetlah dams, known as the Smoky Mountain Hydroelectric facilities jointly owned by Argo and Brookfield, will deliver the power starting in 2025, according to the statement.
The facilities will probably supply more than 14 gigawatt hours of carbon-free energy, "advancing TVA's transition toward its 2050 net-zero goal," according to the statement.
