Spire (SR) said Tuesday it has submitted a rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission to recover infrastructure and technology upgrade investments.

Customers' bills will be lower or unchanged when new rates take effect in Fall 2025, as the natural gas cost has fallen "significantly" although the delivery charge section of Spire's service is expected to rise, the company added.

If the Missouri PSC approves the new rate request, the average monthly residential bill across the state is anticipated to rise by roughly $17, or about 16%, next fall, assuming current natural gas market conditions.

Shares of the company were down 0.3% in recent early Tuesday trading.
