Lindian Resources (ASX:LIN) said it is reviewing funding options for its Kangankunde project in Malawi and will provide an update to the market when a definitive outcome is reached, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

The statement was made in response to social media speculation about funding for the project and other corporate activities, the filing said.

Shares rose 9% in afternoon trade Monday.
