Duke Energy (DUK) said Monday that its Duke Energy Progress unit has reduced rates for residential customers in North Carolina by 4.5% as part of its annual fuel cost adjustment.
The North Carolina Utilities Commission approved the adjustment, which took effect on Sunday, on Nov. 13, the utility said.
A typical residential customer in North Carolina using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month will see their bill decline by $7.34 to $154.63 as a result of the adjustment, the company said.
