HSBC's (HKG:0005) Hong Kong banking arm rolled out its open banking feature on its app, allowing users to view account information for Bank of China Hong Kong (HKG:2388) and Hang Seng Bank (HKG:0011), according to a Wednesday press release.

The app has 2.2 million active users. The initiative is part of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's interbank account data-sharing plan, it said.
