In an interview with Wired Magazine, Apple (AAPL, Financial) CEO Tim Cook explained Apple's AI plan and defended the Vision Pro headset. Some individuals have accused Apple of falling behind in the race to advance AI. Cook stressed Apple's systematic approach by pointing out the firm's neural engines, which began as early as 2017, and hiring Google's top AI professional in 2018.

Cook said in a interview that the Vision Pro headset remains the Spatial computer that enables users to merge real-world objects with digital content through the vision OS. The device can be operated through eyes, hands, and voice, presenting new opportunities for augmented and virtual reality. It enables multi-windows on apps, such as Microsoft 365, FaceTime's Spatial Audio, and presence in immersive spaces.

Cook reiterated the Vision Pro is claimed to be the move towards compact AR glasses and AI in healthcare for $3,499.Cook underscored Apple's commitment to privacy, saying that most AI processes happen locally, on devices, with complex data processed safely at Apple campuses. On generative AI, he did not rule Apple out of the creation of its language model but applauded OpenAI's early work of integrating ChatGPT into Apple products.
