1114 GMT - Vodafone's U.K. merger with Three comes with strings attached, but will be a relief for investors, AJ Bell analyst Dan Coatsworth writes in a note. "Long-suffering shareholders in Vodafone will hope that the green light for its merger with Three is the launchpad for the business to finally show some dynamism after years of stasis," Coatsworth says. However, the U.K. regulator will be looking over both companies' shoulders, as the deal has been approved under the conditions of a heavy investment and tariffs cap over three years, he adds. With the deal concluded, Vodafone must now deliver, he says. Vodafone shares are up 0.9% at 70.44 pence. (najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
