TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) met with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
The minister reported several ongoing programs to President Prabowo. "I’m going to report specifically to the president about some ongoing flagship and quick win programs, some of which can be inaugurated and operated in December and January 2025," said AHY.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Public Housing and Settlement Maruarar Sirait and the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Nusron Wahid.
"I attended the meeting along with five technical ministers under the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development. Of course, there are the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, Minister of Public Works, Minister of Public Housing and Settlement Area, Minister of Transmigration, and Minister of Transportation," said AHY.
Several projects were discussed in the meeting, including the Nusantara Capital City, or IKN, in East Kalimantan. "We are awaiting the decisions from [Prabowo], as well as the directives and instructions,” said AHY.
Previously, Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti said that the progress of 109 packages of IKN construction had reached 61.7 percent with a total budget of Rp89 trillion.
In detail, batch 1 has reached 95.8 percent of completion. The project, contracted in 2020-March 2023, consists of 40 packages with a value of Rp25.1 trillion.
Furthermore, the progress of batch 2 construction reached 71.5 percent. The project, contracted from April 2023-November 2023, consists of 31 packages with a value of Rp27.6 trillion.
Meanwhile, batch 3 progress, Diana said, reached 27.9 percent. The project, contracted from December 2023-2024, consists of 38 packages with a value of Rp36.2 trillion.
"In addition to infrastructure development, we prioritize maintenance and care, especially for the management of drinking water, electricity, and sanitation," said Diana, quoted from a written statement on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. She stated that this is important to ensure that civil servants and other residents feel comfortable living in IKN.
Furthermore, Diana said, the Ministry of Public Works proposed to inaugurate several infrastructures whose construction is targeted to be completed in December 2024, including the Garuda Palace, the Office of the State Secretariat, as well as buildings and coordinating ministries office areas.
"We are still eager to complete IKN construction. The budget allocation is still there to continue the development of its infrastructure," said Diana.
Based on the timeline of IKN development, the new capital will be constructed in 5 stages until 2045. Jokowi’s legacy program is estimated to require a Rp466 trillion budget.
