Strattec Security said it will reduce manufacturing operations shifts in the first quarter that will result in a cut of around 20 jobs.

The provider of smart vehicle power access, security & authorization solutions said Tuesday that it will be listing its Milwaukee, Wis. facility for sale to inform its evaluation of potential upgraded and modernized operations. With the change, the company plans to cut manufacturing to two-shift operation from three-shifts.

The reduction of shifts will lead to the cut of around 20 roles. The company had 3,365 associates worldwide, of which 457 were employed in the U.S., with 170 at its Milwaukee facility as of June 30. The move will also push the company to a 10-hour, 4-day work week compared with its current 8-hour, 5-day schedule.

"We continue to have sufficient capacity to continue to provide our customers the high-quality products they have grown to expect and to deliver them on time to meet their schedules," said President and Chief Executive Jennifer Slater.
