(Bloomberg) -- Con Michalakis, the Deputy Chief Investment Officer of A$120 billion ($76.7 billion) pension fund Hostplus, has been appointed chief investment officer of Funds SA.
Michalakis will depart his current role for Hostplus, one of Australia’s largest pensions, where he has held the post since March 2022. Michalakis joined Hostplus through a merger with Statewide Superannuation, where he was Chief Investment Officer. Funds SA announced in a statement.
Matt Kempton will remain Acting Chief Investment Officer until Michalakis begins in February for Funds SA, which manages A$46 billion on behalf of public authorities and public sector pensions in the state of South Australia. Earlier in his career, Michalakis worked for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and Pzena Investment Management.
