Apple Devices Set to Switch to In-House Chip in Shift From Broadcom, Sources Say, Bloomberg Reports

--Apple's in-house component plans for its devices include switching to a homegrown chip starting next year, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

--The iPhone-maker's chip, codenamed Proxima, will be for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections and is slated to go into the first products in 2025, according to the report.

--The transition will replace some parts currently provided by Broadcom, said Bloomberg. It is separate from Apple's shift from Qualcomm cellular modems but the two parts will eventually work together, it added.

--Representatives for Apple and Broadcom declined to comment, according to the report.
