Following the company's announcement of $10 million in initial orders from its first artificial intelligence customer, Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ:AEHR) shares rose in premarket trade Monday.
With the first system delivering right away, the orders comprise several FOX-XP wafer-level test and burn-in systems and WaferPak contactors. By February 28, 2025, Aehr expects all systems and initial WaferPak orders to be delivered.
Said Gayn Erickson, President and CEO of Aehr, "this latest turnkey solution from Aehr enables a first-ever ability to do a cost-effective production test and burn-in of high-power devices such as AI accelerators at the wafer level with temperatures reaching up to 150 degrees Celsius." By spotting early-life defects during manufacturing while devices are still in wafer form, he pointed out that the approach helps reduce costs and increase yields.
Erickson further underlined Aehr's special market position: the company is the only provider of wafer-level and package-level turnkey test and burn-in solutions for artificial intelligence processors. The release confirms Aehr's leadership in semiconductor testing solutions and announces its arrival into the artificial intelligence scene.
