AAR has agreed to sell its landing gear services business to GA Telesis in a deal valued at $51 million.
The aviation services company said Friday that it would divest the Landing Gear Overhaul business as part of a portfolio shift toward its core businesses.
AAR said the deal would be immediately accretive to its margins and earnings.
Landing Gear Overhaul provides landing gear maintenance, repair and overhaul services to commercial and government customers. It is being sold to GA Telesis, a privately held provider of aviation aftermarket services based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
AAR will remain the prime contractor for its U.S. Air Force Landing Gear Performance Based Logistics contract, though services are to be continued by GA Telesis as a subcontractor.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of next year.
