U.S. stocks traded mostly higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 100 points on Friday.
Following the market opening Friday, the Dow traded up 0.24% to 42,445.30 while the NASDAQ fell 0.13% to 19,347.54. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.08% to 5,871.87.

Leading and Lagging SectorsReal estate shares rose by 1.1% on Friday.
In trading on Friday, consumer staples shares fell by 0.4%.

Carnival Corporation (NYSE:CCL) reported better-than-expected earnings for its fourth quarter on Friday.
The company posted quarterly earnings of 14 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 8 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $5.938 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $5.932 billion.

Silver traded up 1.2% to $29.775 on Friday, while copper rose 0.4% to $4.0930.
Euro zone
European shares were lower today. The eurozone's STOXX 600 dipped 1.3%, Germany's DAX fell 0.9% and France's CAC 40 declined 0.7%. Spain's IBEX 35 Index fell 0.2%, while London's FTSE 100 fell 0.5%.
Asia Pacific Markets
Asian markets closed lower on Friday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 falling 0.29%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index falling 0.16%, China's Shanghai Composite Index declining 0.06% and India's BSE Sensex falling 1.49%.
