MicroStrategy (MSTR) said Monday it acquired 5,262 bitcoins for $561 million in cash on Dec. 16-22.
The purchases were at an average price of $106,662 per bitcoin using proceeds from the sale of about 1.3 million class A common shares, the company said in a regulatory filing.
As of Sunday, the company and its subsidiaries held 444,262 bitcoins at an aggregate price of $27.7 billion with an average purchase price of $62,257 per bitcoin, according to the filing.
MicroStrategy shares fell 5.1% in recent Monday trading.
