The crypto market evolved with the arrival of Articial Intelligence (AI) as the technology advanced and also opened up new avenues for enthusiasts to invest in. The branching of the AI space further enabled new narratives to make their way into the market.

BeInCrypto has analyzed the narratives that drove AI crypto tokens in 2024 and also what direction they could take in 2025.

AI Agents

One of the most intriguing AI narrative was AI Agents. AI agents are intelligent systems designed to analyze their environment, make informed decisions, and take actions to achieve defined objectives. In an interview with BeInCrypto, Nicolai Sondergaard, Research Analyst at Nansen, described the potential of these tokens in 2025.

“One significant trend I foresee is the growing use of AI agents across various business sectors, regardless of size. These agents could be applied to customer interactions, data analysis, and image or content generation. This technology is particularly advantageous for smaller businesses that cannot afford human expertise throughout the entire process. AI agents would handle the majority of tasks, leaving the final quality control to humans,” Sondergaard told BeInCrypto.

An emerging token in this category would be Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) which posted a 10,359% rally year to date. This growth brought the altcoin up from the lows to $0.029 to $3.141 at the time of writing.

Going forward, this growth is expected to continue and push VIRTUAL higher, provided investors don’t move to sell. Profit-taking could lead to a drop below the support of $2.021, sending the altcoin toward $0.502.

AI Meme Coins

The demand for meme coins did not spare AI either. This is visible in the likes of Turbo (TURBO) managing to chart a 3,000% rise year-to-date. Since the past few weeks, the altcoin has been mostly stuck moving sideways, yet it could soon note a breakout above $0.0134.

The AI meme coin narrative hype also skyrocketed the likes of Act 1: The AI Prophecy (ACT), Goatseus Maximus (GOAT), and Fartcoin (FARTCOIN) into the limelight. Owing to the high demand and hype, FARTCOIN even managed to reach a market cap of $1.15 billion.

Thus, going into 2025, as the two most crucial narratives – AI and Meme coins – continue to find demand, the market could witness the emergence of more AI meme coins.

AI-DePIN

While Artificial Intelligence and DePIN are their own exclusive categories within the crypto market, the latter has influenced the former. The DePIN narrative had quite an effect on the crypto space in the latter half of the year.

Impact of the same can be noted on AIOZ Network (AIOZ) which witnessed a 569% rise in the span of 12 months. The altcoin did manage to rise above the threshold of $1.00 before sliding to trade at $0.95 at the moment.

Given the AI-DePIN narrative is still growing it will be interesting to see how much it can advance in 2025. AIOZ will be a key token in this category and securing $1.00 as support could push it further up on the charts.

On the other hand, losing the support of $0.92 could result in the altcoin falling towards $0.55. This would invalidate the bullish outlook completely, resulting in losses for AIOZ investors.
